Instructions to install Java Software Development Kit |

Download all the above (three) zipped files by clicking on the links and store all of them in a folder. Please note that Java Development Kit 1.5 has size of 52 MB, Java Documentation for JDK 1.5 has size of 44 MB and JCreator 5.0 installation file has size of 5.9 MB. If you have high speed internet connection then only download the same otherwise get these files on a CD or flash memory from any friend who has downloaded it. It would be practically impossible to download these files from a dial up internet connection. |

After downloading, first install Java Development Kit 1.5 by unzipping the zip file and then clicking on the only exe file. The wizard will install the Java Development Kit 1.5. Most of the time you have to just press the Next button. |

After installing JDK successfully, unzip the documentation file. It will unzip into a folder by the name docs. You need to give path for the same. You can choose any path (I recommend D:\) but you must remember it for the next step. |

Now unzip the JCreator file and run the only exe file in it. While installing the same you again need to press Next button most of the time. In the process of installation, it will ask for the path of java directory (the Jcreator will find it, you just have to OK the same). It will also ask the documentation directory path. Now give the path of docs directory installed in the previous step by pressing the Browse button. |

Now you are ready for your first Java program. Click on the JCreator icon on the desktop and open a new file (main class file) from the menu. Now enter any simple Java program and then first try to build the program. If successful, then try to run it. |
